Luggage

How do I carry stuff on the bike?

My first approach was the BMW cases, since I already have the Vario racks on the bike.

Top case

So I first bought a top case from that range

Tank bag

Right at the start (even before the bike arrived) I went shopping at Louis.

For the Sweden tour I then treated myself to something bigger after all.

Now the drone including the battery charger fits in, and even a few eggs :-)

Rackless luggage system

Here too I wasn’t keen on paying ~1000€ to Mosko or Lonerider.

There were several cheaper alternatives, and I’ve now gone for the Ranger Wilds Enduro 80 from Westwind Moto.

As a promotion, the set came with 2x RW6 to extend the side bags.

And I ordered another 2x RW6 for the crash bars

On the right side there’s an RW6 attached, currently for a 2L reserve canister and the small axe. I’ll probably swap that to the left side though and use the right one for 2 water bottles.

This is how she was packed for the Sweden tour. Clothes in the yellow drybag, the drone and the notebook in the Westwind drybag.

I won’t do it like that again, though. First, stacking soft luggage is a silly idea, it never gets really tight, and I don’t even know yet whether I’ll take the notebook along again. I only took it out once to copy the memory cards. And that can be done differently…
